I designed these interior signs to work cohesively as a foursome, but also each communicate a separate aspect of the. Museum’s programming and mission. They incorporate the Museum’s brand colors as well as represent a recent shift in design style I’m implementing across Museum communications as part of its brand management.
To commemorate their 90th anniversary, Tacoma Art Museum wanted to create some hats and shirts using a vintage logo from the 1970s. I jumped at the opportunity to create something that felt both old school and fresh…This is a video I created to promote the new items.

“Long dismissed as mere ‘idle talk,’ gossip has historically been trivialized—particularly when associated with women and feminized voices. Yet, this practice holds profound cultural and political significance. Across generations and geographies, gossip has functioned as a vital conduit for knowledge transmission, memory-making, and community-building. It has served as a discreet but powerful tool through which women and queer individuals have shared oral histories, preserved ancestral wisdom, and cultivated collective identities.

Featuring works by Barbara Kruger, Joyce J. Tacoma Art Museum’s newest long term exhibition Gossip: Between Us draws from the museum’s permanent collection to spotlight women and queer artists—particularly those whose work embodies the tradition of “gossip.” Featuring works by Barbara Kruger, Joyce J. Scott, Carrie Mae Weems, and more, these artists engage in gossip not only as subject matter but as methodology, embedding within their work the textures of lived experience, cultural memory, and communal care. I worked with the exhibition curator Victoria Miles whose vision for the exhibition and poster design was influenced by zine aesthetic and the imagery of women joyously communicating.

In this third iteration of The Current, An Artist Award exhibition, tomakesenseofitall features work from the 2024-25 The Current, An Artist Award Program artists. tomakesenseofitall delves into the artists’ relationships between their environments, surroundings, and those around them, offering evocations of memory through their recollections and imaginings. The exhibition’s poetic and exploratory nature articulates an attentiveness to the artists’ interpretations of these retellings, as they employ their imaginations, through various mediums, to make sense of it all. This poster was designed with input from the exhibition curator Victoria Miles who wanted imagery of sea and sky and reflection, and the use of blue and pink. I used an image of clouds I had taken and manipulated it for the poster art.
Here’s an exhibition trailer I created for Tacoma Art Museum’s Echoes of the Floating World guest curated by artist Kenji Stoll. Kenji talks about the connections between the Edo era artists of Japan and contemporary artists from Tacoma featured in the upcoming exhibition. I paired a motion version of the poster design I created for graphic elements and added original background music I created.
Echoes of the Floating World highlights the continuing influence of Japan’s ukiyo-e woodblock prints on contemporary art in the Pacific Northwest. The exhibition features a striking collection of 18th-, 19th- and early 20th-century Japanese woodblock prints from the Tacoma Art Museum and others, displayed alongside works by contemporary Northwest artists. This exhibition honors the rich legacy of ukiyo-e while exploring its cultural impact on today’s artistic expressions. “What’s really cool about this show is that you’ll see these [woodblock prints] in person, and you’ll also see the ways in which they influence artists who live and work right in our community…It’s a full circle moment.” –Kenji Stoll. The exhibition will also showcase the works of several regional contemporary artists, including a mural by Stoll.
We love art, and the Bay Area is certainly renowned for its uniquely creative vision—a vision which Sonoma area collector Rene di Rosa excelled at capturing in his extensive collection at the di Rosa preserve. We were sorry to hear of his recent passing. Sarah recalls, fondly, interviewing him for a story and how all he wanted to talk about was how much he loved eating his lunches at Sonoma Market. We do too! We’ll miss seeing him across the salad bar, but happily know his passion for art and his support for the arts will live on through the di Rosa preserve.
